Falkirk
Half a century of helping shape the place we call home
Introduction
Some projects arrive through formal tenders.
Others begin through recommendations, partnerships, and long-standing professional relationships.
And then there are the projects that come from simply being part of a place.
Having lived and worked in Falkirk for almost half a century, IDEAS has had the privilege of contributing to an extraordinary range of local initiatives, organisations, businesses, events, attractions, developments, and community projects.
Over the years, it has become increasingly difficult to walk through the town without encountering a brand, campaign, publication, exhibition, destination, visitor attraction, business, event, or public initiative that has, in some way, benefitted from IDEAS’ involvement.
Collectively, these projects tell a story not only of a business, but of a community and its continuing evolution.
The Challenge
Places are complex.
Unlike a single organisation or development project, towns are shaped by thousands of individual decisions made by businesses, public bodies, community groups, charities, cultural organisations, developers, and entrepreneurs.
Each has its own objectives, audiences, challenges, and ambitions.
Yet successful places rely on something larger than individual projects alone. They depend upon confidence, identity, investment, participation, and a shared belief in the future.
Across multiple decades, IDEAS has repeatedly been called upon to help organisations communicate those ambitions, attract audiences, engage communities, support regeneration, and strengthen perceptions of Falkirk as a place to live, work, visit, and invest.
Our Intervention
Rather than a single commission, this case study represents the cumulative impact of hundreds of creative interventions delivered across a remarkable variety of sectors.
Under the creative direction of Don Jack, IDEAS has contributed to projects spanning:
Business and commercial enterprises – helping organisations establish their identity, communicate value, and attract customers.
Visitor attractions and tourism – developing brands, campaigns, exhibitions, and visitor experiences.
Regeneration and placemaking initiatives – supporting investment, consultation, and community engagement.
Arts, culture, and events – creating communications that encourage participation and celebrate local identity.
Education and community organisations – helping worthwhile causes communicate more effectively and broaden their reach.
Public sector projects – supporting initiatives designed to improve the quality of life and economic vitality of the area.
Each project may have differed in scale and purpose, but all shared a common objective: helping people understand, engage with, and support positive change.
Campaign & Strategy
Throughout five decades of activity, IDEAS has consistently approached local projects through the same lens applied to national and international commissions.
Every organisation, event, development, and initiative benefits from:
Clear positioning – defining what makes it distinctive and relevant.
Strong visual communication – ensuring ideas are understood quickly and effectively.
Audience understanding – identifying the people most likely to engage, participate, support, or invest.
Consistency across touchpoints – creating confidence through coherent communication.
Long-term thinking – recognising that successful brands and places are built over time.
Whether creating a logo for a local organisation, supporting a major development proposal, promoting a visitor attraction, or helping launch a new business, the underlying objective remains remarkably similar: creating belief in possibility.

Results & Legacy
This page contains only a selection of the projects IDEAS has delivered across Falkirk over the years.
Taken individually, each represents a specific challenge solved, a business launched, a campaign delivered, a visitor attracted, a development supported, or a community engaged.
Taken together, they tell a much bigger story.
They demonstrate the cumulative effect of creative thinking applied consistently over time.
Few agencies have the opportunity to contribute to a place for five decades. Fewer still have the privilege of seeing their work become woven into the everyday experiences of the people who live there.
For IDEAS, Falkirk has never simply been a location.
It has been a client, a collaborator, an inspiration, and a home.
And while individual projects come and go, the opportunity to help shape the place where you live remains one of the most rewarding forms of creative work imaginable.
Because ultimately, the success of a place is measured not by the number of projects completed, but by the confidence, pride, and opportunity those projects help create.
That is a legacy built one idea at a time.
